I also care about minimizing e-waste, I have never once bought a new computer or phone in my life. Only second hand.
A 4-year-old enterprise grade laptop or a 2-year-old flagship phone are better value for money (including battery life) than anything you could get new at the price point.That’s why I decided to go for a Framework this time around. In theory, being able to repair and upgrade it means I generate less waste in the long run.
And yes, it’s very Boots Theory; the Framework was more expensive up-front than other comparable laptops but can be upgraded for cheaper than buying a new one.
Just buy a Thinkpad.
