Fucking love it! I’ve always found the ‘it’s not a choice’ a weak argument. What if it were? If there exists someone who can turn gay (or bi, ace, straight… whatever) at will wouldn’t they deserve the same respect and rights whatever they choose?
The worst is when “they” come back at you with you choose to be gay because even if you’re only attracted to people of the same sex, it’s still a choice as to whether or not you act on it.

Fucked up argument, it makes my blood boil. Religious trauma sucks, and that is one of their top 5 lines.
Yeah, I like leaning into the idea that it could be a choice because it takes away an easy nonstarter for opposing arguments.
