The “private” chatroom from a while ago seems to indicate that, indeed, they believe their own shit. It would be worrying to have these people in position of great power, wouldn’t it?

This is the least inexplicable shit to barf out her word hole. A lot of branches on the Protestant tree hate the Catholic Church and always have.

Somehow I doubt this was because Francis continued church policies of covering up for sex offenders.

She strikes me as someone who says controversial things to remain relevant.

Reminds me of one we had over here, I intentionally don’t remember her name but like Piers Morgan but less relevant.

Always chuckle at went on TV saying she hates people calling their children after places… and her daughter was called India.

She was a Qanon wine mom YouTuber prior to her political career, so yeah, you are 100% correct.

I’m gonna have to ask some.

          This.

I’ve been Catholic all my life. How can you be Catholic but oppose the pope, one of the central parts of the religion? It means you don’t trust God’s judgment, therefore you lack faith, therefore you’re not Catholic.

          Oh right, they don’t think.

Its always infuriating me when people “pick and choose” from religion. Either you take the whole deal or nothing. In this case, the pope, the direkt link and voice of god on earth. If you defy the pope, you defy god and say you know better.

I was raised catholic, and what made me leave was people like that, normal and priests of all levels. No you arent better just because you hold a spiritual position, no your “sinns” arent less evil, no god likes all people no matter their sexuality ethnicity gender identity aso otherwise he, to their own logic, wouldnt have created it!

My favorit joke is “so why did they kill jesus?” He said “be kind to another, help the poor, dont be greedy, love another, and spread love”

Yeah, the thing a lot of Catholics in America don’t wanna look at is the fact that we very well might see another schism between American Catholicism and Roman Catholicism within our lifetimes, possibly within a decade. The American church has been drifting REALLY far from the RCC, and not in the good ways.

Not just Catholics It’s All American Christians. American Christianity is just moving extremely far away from its traditional roots, be that Catholic or Protestant or what have you. Of course I would argue the real Schism seems to be between Christians and Christ.

American Christianity is weird to me. Cult like group rituals and yet it’s my fault for noticing.

What is italian christianity? Do you mean catholicism?

If you do then, no it doesnt have cult like behaviour. Lots of catholics, lutherans, calvinists, hugenots, zwinglinists and anglicans dont even get near cultish. If they wouldnt tell you, at none of their behaviours would you notice which religion if at all they are a part off. Its not an every day talk topic like with the free churches, prespetarians, mega churches, quakers aso in the US.

The church is getting constantly mocked in media. On good german media that had a focus on it is “Das kleine Arschloch” (the little asshole). Media that mocks church, jesus, or anything religiouse is often banned in america. The catholic church is openly being critisised for their money hording, pedophilia, hiding CSAs and their priests owning CP occasionally.

        Churches are empty.

A german joke is: “How do you get rid of your local priest? Show up to church. Gives him a heart attack from someone suddenly being there”

If anything he was “rescued”, or “promoted to headquarters” if you will. Because he was too good a man for these times ahead, and sadly had been getting weaker for a while. And the world is morally poorer for his departure.

I don’t view the Vatican as the shining beacon of light it wants to be, but Pope Francis was a great Pope, who more than talking, walked the walk and lead by example. Loved by catholics and even people of other religions, as well as many atheists/agnostics. A unifying force of good.

Yet before he went he made sure his last big act was to admonish Vance and the Trump administration. Good on him.
