“Civilized” is this context is a dog whistle for white. Anti-Arab and anti-indigenous beliefs are taking over both.

A few nights ago, I watched a classic film called “The Battle for Algiers”. The movie explored the French occupation of Algeria during the independence movement of the late 50s/early 60s.

And let me tell you, “civilized” France was doing some curiously unciviled shit by the end.

I love the Battle of Điện Biên Phủ. Don’t know if there’s a movie of it.

“These stupid primitives that we’ve denied sovereignty and exploited couldn’t possibly beat us with anti aircraft weapons!”

Fuck all colonizers. Fuck the U.S. for getting involved after the Vietnamese thoroughly said, “no, we want to rule ourselves.”

Don’t know if there’s a movie of it.

          From the Wikipedia article:

The battle was a subject in the 1992 French film Dien Bien Phu written and directed by Pierre Schoendoerffer, who had been present at the battle as a war cameramen.

The beginning of the 1966 film Lost Command starring Anthony Quinn showed the battle towards its end. The film was adapted from the French novel Les Centurions written by French journalist and former soldier Jean Lartéguy.

I think you need to read the comic again.
It’s calling the USA (white) uncivilized, and everywhere else (mostly not white) civilized.
