I was permabanned a while ago due to support of my boy Luigi for “inciting violence”.
Whatever. I tried getting around it the traditional ways (making new accounts with temporary emails, using VPNs) but was having no luck. They had beefed up the way they do permabans.
My question is: has anyone found a way to get around a permaban on reddit that works in 2025 without being silently banned? I’d need specific details. I’m hoping to access on iOS also but if it needs to be on PC that’s fine too.
I’m not going to appeal my ban since I don’t believe I did anything wrong but I do want to stick it to them by getting around their ban. Besides there are some communities I need to be able to ask questions in.
new IP, new device, and different browser, especially one that either hides fingerprinting or scrambles it. also change your behavior from your previous bans, like spamming, engaging in controversial subs, writing style, maybe comment in a niche sub first, dont go to large subs right away.

if your using a new locaiton, your reddit usage might be limited, unless your using a new mobile device/ or device with new IP address.

Yeah I’ve been trying to. I haven’t been on it for nearly half a year at this point. I’m fine with using Lemmy but there are some things Lemmy isn’t great at like having thriving communities I can direct questions about personal finance to and getting a wide variety of opinions. Or even pottery discussion. Lemmy is almost only about politics, Linux, and Star Trek memes. Not much more than that.
I actually think Lemmy has started to die off more since I’ve been here. I’m guessing I was part of some large migration when I started but now most of those people have stopped coming on several months later.
You don’t. If they don’t want you, why stick around?
Like it or not they have a monopoly on the most active forum service. To the point where no other service is really useful when it comes to asking live questions and getting live answers for many different topics.
I actively want to destroy them for this. They are swallowing up the internet, so they gave me no choice. I will support Lemmy for this reason.
And it steals hours from your life.
If I need to go there, I use the LibRedirect extension. Read-only reddit is good enough for my needs.
Not to care and move on
Delete your accounts. Best way to stick it to them. Leave and never go crawling back to corporate shitheads.
Why? Reddit is a cancer, let it die.
There is also no way when they go out of their way more than any other company to catch people who were banned. I don’t understand the sheer level of pettiness to do that.

Business will end us all…
…unless open source devours it first.
Also, do you have any idea how many people I gave support to?
I may not have been entertaining, but I loved listening to and supporting people on Reddit, and I laughed alongside some people.
You already found it. Welcome to something better.
I’m in the same boat, I did try and appeal but it went unanswered. It seems like a 9 month no use wait for the site before you can try and create a new account according to what I’ve read. Hopefully someone can give us some better ideas.
U need to change ur device fingerprint.
They’ll instantly ban me if I post from my laptop for some reason but if I post from my phone it’s fine? I’m behind a permanent VPN that’s running on my router so I guess that’s why?
I made my Reddit account by using the “login with Apple” feature after downloading the app on my phone and I just never make any post from my laptop not even a comment otherwise I’ll be instantly banned.
Honestly I’m reading what everyone else had said in the comments and I agree it’s a blessing the only reason I’m on Reddit now is because the vocaloid community there is bigger. Lemmy is a good replacement for everything else.
VPN is an autoban from reddit, only other way is using proxies/new device, anti-detect browsers, but this doesnt come cheap if your not earning an income with hordes of accounts at yuor disposal and its generally not worth it for someone that wants to engage in reddit.
i heard they give more leniency to mobile app created accounts, they dont ban them as heavily as one created from a PC, im guessing because reddit wants your mobile app data more than they want a browser one from a PC.
