The designer of the IPhone is pretty much a capitalist
The capitalists organised the system to borderline enslave people to build you a phone.
But its still not a good anti-phone argument, allmost all modern technology suffers this problem.
It isn’t an anti-phone argument, but an anti-capitalist argument.
I think technically their argument would be that Capitalists made the initial outlay of Capital…
…of course that’s usually actually done by banks and the state… And sometimes inheritance laws.
That’s the thing though… some workers are philosophically capitalist. It’s the whole “temporarily embarrassed billionaires” thing.
This is true, liberalism is the superstructure of capitalism. The big difference in the US is that historically, for workers, land was promised to settlers for dirt cheap if they were willing to kill indigenous Americans for it. This settler-colonialism meant that there was a lot of upward mobility for white USians. Now that the US is in the modern era, it supports itself mostly via imperialism, which bribes the upper segment of the working class into support for the system, and this viewpoint permeates to the middle section.
