    No.

But put that technology in an electric motorbike that requires a licence, registration and insurance - Hell Yeah!

    Here’s an interesting clip.

When I was walking my dog’s in the park late at night I watched a dude eat total shit on one of those mono wheel things. It was on pavement, and he got pretty scraped up. I can’t imagine how wrecked a person should get if they were going 100mph on a scooter.

Fuck, imagine driving on the interstate going 60 in your car, and you see a dude on a scooter catching up to you on it, waving hello to you.

Terrifying to think about for me or kids. Hopefully, it is a promotion and an engineering exercise to develop the tech and showboat the possible. Performance bike and car manufacturers have done this for decades to enhance their brand and to sell their road legal cars or bikes. Personally I find the idea of eScooters terrifying, but will ride my bike, which when I think about it offers almost zero protection either.

Bikes are a lot more stable than scooters at almost any speed, and have more flex to them, and these days often at least some sort of suspension. My kid loves his e scooter but it does 30mph and unless it’s on a long, straight flat trail it’s scary for me doing 30 mph. I can almost get my pedal bike to that speed, maybe even over if I really work at it down hill, and I’ve never even been nervous on that.

and the larger, softer wheels on a bike are going to slow it down much faster, and with a lot more control, than anything rolling on tiny wheels with miniscule contact patches.

Wearing motorcycle-grade protection on an eScooter kills the point of the eScooter.

I see an increase in the dashcam videos with someone on a 100mph scooter wiping out or crashing into a vehicle.

Better wear full on motorcycle gear when riding these things and have your will up to date.

I saw a one wheel guy doing at least 40mph the other day. He was all kitted out in leathers and a very blinky helmet. Looked like a motorcycle that the front had fallen off of.

Can’t wait to see someone riding this at 100 mph in the bike lane, wearing a t-shirt, shorts, and flip flops.
