I recognize Palestinian people’s right to identity, autonomy, self-governance, sovereignity, freedom of movement, etcetc. But I can’t in all honesty say that I recognize the two de-facto disjointed and powerless entities under Israeli occupation and control as a singular state, if any at all.

Freedom to Gaza, end to West Bank apartheid, glory to Arstozka

That’s part of the problem and why one recurring demand is for Palestine to have a single contiguous territory, instead of the bisection done by Israel.

I don’t see it as that big of a problem, countries with exclaves exist, could be something like Armenian-Azerbaijani solution with mutual corridors (though this one has shown to fail miserably). The fact that Fatah and Hamas went their own direction is a bit more of an issue. My position is simple, though - Israel should fuck off all occupied territories, including those of Syria and Lebanon, and lift all blockades they have enacted. They can put as many walls and iron domes as they want, but fuck off the territory that doesn’t belong to them. Whether Palestine re-unites after that or remains as two independent states is then up to Palestinian people to decide.

I can agree with that. Palestinians should get to decide whether they’re one state or more.

I wouldn’t call someone inhuman if they don’t recognize Palestine as a nation. Even though recognizing someone’s independence is probably a good thing you need special knowledge of the situation. I would call them inhuman if they support genocide or any of the war crimes that are happening there.

I agree., denying someones humanity is kinda how genocides get going. I have no pity for genociders or their supporters and I’d also rather more people won’t become like them

Nations are lies that divide humanity.

Edit: Damn, didn’t know Lemmy had nationalists.

Question for you: Why is your land superior just because you happened to be born there? This is the same line of thinking that isrelis use to justify their genocide.

You can be an anarchist and still understand the system we currently live in.

Recognising a people are being genocided and should be given legitimacy on the world stage, to help protect themselves, to get aid that they couldn’t unless they’re a nation state, is more anarchist than always living in the theoretical, hoped for, future world.

Eventually, yes, borders should get to fuck. But we don’t live in that world yet. Right now Israel is killing Palestinians in droves.

Might Is Right is less anarchist than borders.

Being anti genocide is more anarchist than being anti borders.

Nation states are by their very nature genocidal. Just look what happened to the Jews and Israel. They were the victim of a genocide, so the international community gave them a nation state. Now they commit a genocide. That is not the only case of that happening. Genocides follow the creation of nation states all across the world. By definition a nation state is meant for only one nation. So a nation state is always racist. Just as is the idea of ethnicity, which inherintly leads to racism.

Also do not look at the donor list for the UNRWA, if you want to believe the recognizing Palastine is needed to send aid. Indeed I find it obvious to help fellow human beings, without having to recognize state or ethnicity. Not doing so, seems to me to be a massive problem.

Underrated comment. Even if most self proclaimed anarchists are stateists by old habbit anyways.
