Anybody who was on the internet before this wave of mass corporate sponsored censorship can see this argument is a complete red herring. All kinds of speech are censored now and the internet was an objectively better place for free exchange before. Now civil liberties are being curbed in the name of protection yet again mainly because people can’t cope with the fact that people disagree with them on stuff.
