Yup. I was just going to comment,

“Not me, mine is treated™! Everything else is the same though. 😅”

Getting my ADHD diagnosis hasn’t particularly helped my depression sadly. Does it help others?

Hasn’t helped me yet, but that’s because I haven’t found a med that doesn’t give me wild side effects.

      • SSRIs - Nightmares, anorgasmia, RLS, insomnia leading into mania.
      • SNRIs - Sleeping nearly 20 hours a day for a week. Also had a real side effect called something like “excessive disrupting and disturbing yawning” where I would constantly have yawn attacks and could not stop yawning for ten minutes. It actually drove me into a panic attack because it was messing up my breathing.
      • NDRIs - This was a wild one. I was angry and combative. I wanted to destroy everything I touched and I didn’t even care.

I’m going back tomorrow to tell the doc that the SNRIs didn’t work, so hopefully I can try something else. Right now I have hydroxyzine as needed and it somewhat works, but it also causes nightmares for me as well if I take it too late, which kind of kills the point of taking it on sleepless nights.

At this point I’ve just been continuing Kratom. But again, I can’t take it at night due to vivid nightmares. Seems like anything that ups my serotonin does it to me.

What is your diagnosis? Things like Ketamine or Psilocybin have interesting results for depression.

If it’s anxiety, I’m so sorry friend. I’m lucky enough to have had ssris knock out my anxiety. I know how fucking horrible it is.

Well, according to one doctor I saw early on in my quest for help, people with ADHD don’t get depressed. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I wouldn’t say treatment for ADHD completely eliminated any depression, but it has helped some… When ADHD isn’t interfering with my life quite as much, I have a little bit less to feel depressed about.

It definitely helped in some ways. Not being able to seek treatment for ADHD was a huge stressor as was the years long journey to get diagnosed as an adult. I tried reducing my antidepressants once I got on meds for ADHD, but, turns out the world still sucks even treated and I do better with the depression meds. Anxiety has decreased a bit.

Are you asking who the blond guy is? That’s Fred from the ancient cartoon Scooby Doo. (I grew up watching it)

I think it was more a: do you feel represented by this meme? Like in the “I’m in this photo and don’t like it,” kinda way.

      ancient cartoon

Love that haha Which version did you grow up watching, I did catch a lot of reruns growing up and remember when the live action movies came out. I gotta say, if you still watch cartoons, Mystery Incorporated is such a fun take on Scooby Doo!
