Just awesome to see Rice score and then for Jesus to slot home a finish, cool as a cucumber, on top of it. I really hope this heralds some more output for Jesus.

Cityzen here in peace, still looking for my instance… Glad to see you guys knock United down, though honestly was hoping both of you would drop points with a draw. Best of the worst outcome today as I see it.

Jesus (or Gabby as we called him cuz he was the only Gabriel on the the team) was one I always had high hopes and much love for. Joined us as a promising youngster, had many clutch moments, but didn’t capitalize on enough of them.

Odegaard is good and a force by himself. And I hope Rice pans out for you as well as Grealish has for us so far.

Just don’t do Zinny wrong. He is a player and a half when you need him. Take care of him for us.

Yeah it’s a bit of sour grapes really, especially considering penalty overturned and Eddie got kicked in the face on that counter! The one play the had was kick the ball to Rashford and hope he produced some magic, it backfired and he looks stupid because he had to bring on Jonny Evans and Slabhead

I have a lot of respect for managers who can publish accept that their team was second best on the day. Ten Haag consistently does not earn such respect. When he loses, he’s a sore loser.

Highlight of the match: the entire bar I was at cheering “HARRY, HARRY” as Maguire prepared to come on

It wasn’t until I watched the highlights that I noticed Gabriel was aware of the threw ball to Garnacho and makes a desperate jump back to make him offsides.

Full time thoughts: Rice looked good again even before the goal, Havertz worked hard off the ball but was very poor in possession/transition, Saka should have scored and I think the defense overall dealt with the counterattacks well but Saliba stood out as per usual

Viera and Tomiyasu looked good when coming on as well, I thought Jesus looked off the pace still before his superbly taken goal so he put me in my place

@Mansuke hah!!! What a roller coaster. From thinking we threw away the game at 2-1 to winning 3-1. What a crazy game we all enjoy somehow!

I think Man U fans will feel hard done by based on the balance of play but it was only so close because we weren’t clicking, we attacked, we pressed and we deserved to win for trying

That’s a fair assessment on Havertz, though I think he did well at stopping their attacks again. Need more from him though.

He did do well stopping attacks but the first half miss and sloppy pass for the counter means he will get even more scrutiny unfortunately and when the people around him are so talented it becomes clear when things aren’t going quite right, no room for passengers in the team and Xhaka last season was so important in the same role both offensively and defensively.

The great news is he has a bit of time to click. Xhaka changed roles when Arteta made changes to the system in his second season, and that year and the next were statistically two of xhakas best in his whole career.

Havertz has played a handful of games in a position he hasn’t played much at all since before Chelsea, in a different system and with a different player starting at LB every game so far. We know how important the FB-Winger-8 link up is in this setup (case in point, White, Saka, Ø).

I agree we need Havertz to step up, but we’ve got a lot of room for optimism.

Oh definitely, the comparison between the two wasn’t a dig at Havertz, just trying to highlight how important the 8 role was for us last season and why our attacks have been lacking a bit of cutting edge and fluidity these past few games.

We’ve got a lot of room for optimism as a club in general, not just trajectory but when you look at the quality on our bench compared to the past few seasons and the potential of our young squad, we’ve got it all to come.

Rice calls for the ball at the back post. He’s open, and Johnny Evan and Harry Maguire are bad at football, so they don’t notice. Saka sees it and hits it straight at Rice.

I think this is from the training ground.
