Hello everyone, My name is Raghad, and I am a mother of four children: Osama (10 years old), Anas (8), Abdulrahman (5, born with Down syndrome), and Mohammed (3). We are from northern Gaza, and since the beginning of the war we have been living under unbearable conditions. …starvation, no healthy food, and no clean water for my children.

What breaks my heart the most are my children. Abdulrahman, my son with Down syndrome, used to attend the “Right to Life” association where he received care and therapy. But the center was bombed, and since then he no longer speaks. His health and behavior have worsened dramatically.

Just one month after the war began, our home was bombed. With it, all my dreams and memories with my children were destroyed. All we have left are a few photos. I was a science teacher, but I lost my job because schools were turned into shelters or destroyed. My husband lost his father, and his brother , along with colleagues and many of my students.

Today my children have no school, no future, no present. My eldest, Osama, once a playful child, has lost his childhood. The war has forced him to grow up too soon. Every day he carries responsibilities far beyond his age ,fetching water, waiting in long lines for bread, walking long distances to charge my phone because there is no electricity, and collecting firewood so we can cook.

My children were supposed to live like other children around the world with a warm home, good education, clean food and water, and safety. But all of that has vanished. Now we are left with nothing but survival in a life of hardship and fear.

I appeal to every compassionate heart, to anyone who knows what human rights and children’s rights mean. I don’t ask for myself, I only want to save my children and protect them. Most of you have children and can understand how painful it is to watch them suffer instead of living their childhood like other kids.

Please, don’t ignore my message. I love you all, and I sincerely hope none of you ever have to live even one day of what we have endured.

Thank you.
