I’m searching for a good Android app that lets multiple people work together to create a list of meals for the next several days. Ideally, it should offer easy collaboration (shared lists or planners) so everyone can check/update meals. Does anyone have recommendations for apps that make group meal planning straightforward? Thanks!
Take a look at KitchenOwl, it’s FOSS, supports shared shopping lists, recipes, and meal plans.

I’ve seen your project brought up a few times now. Just saw the HA integration… I have a bunch of recipes on Cookmate (kinda like yours, but not self-hostable), but also trying to slim down my dependence on external services. This looks interesting to me.
I’ll give it a go. What personal data are you collecting (as per the Google Play Store listing)? Why does a meal planner need to collect personal data anyway?
If you’re not self hosting the server there is a central server you can use. To sign up there you have to provide an email address, which is considered personal identifiable information. If you’re self hosting the backend nothing is shared or collected. You can look at the privacy policy for more info. https://kitchenowl.org/privacy/
I would recommend syncthing and plain text files organized in a simple clear folder structure.
I would alternatively recommend Logseq, Obsidian or Joplin but the issue is file syncing/file share.
Actually Cryptpad!
I recommend using a general tool in a simple way rather than look for a specific niche tool in this case but that is just me.
I’m using eat this much with my so. We use the premium version for 5 bucks a month, and are quite happy with it. You can test it for free, but the automatic grocery list generator alone is worth it :) https://www.eatthismuch.com/
