By doing this, they’ve also ironically managed to disprove their own point of supposedly only enforcing the rules. Bit of a shame, as the idea of the community seemed nice, but I thought the mod was really out of line there.

Oh well, you better believe I’ll be back downvoting in 74 years!

Lemmy is still small and has a lot of small instances, a good number of us use All and not subscribe to every community. There are like 5 gaming communities that pop up on All, daily.

Nothing OP said was uncivil, they didn’t call anyone names, they didn’t troll or act like a dick. Having a different opinion of someone isn’t being uncivil.

You clearly have the same mindset as other reddit mods do and you really shouldn’t hold any mod positions if this is how you act with different opinions.

That community is incredibly small. I am the only active poster there. That post was already several hours old, and suddenly 10 downvotes come in quick succession? And none of them from members of the community? Yeah, that looks like a brigade to me.

As for the OP—I’d say accusing me of advertising is pretty damn uncivil. And not someone I want participating.

If you don’t want people to interact with your content, go make a WordPress blog or something.

You posted something unpopular enough that 10 different people down voted it, just take the L.
