I always use the analogy of the burning house … in this case, the house is on fire. By standers and people looking at the situation know the entire building will burn down … it’s just a matter of time. But the person in the living room inside the burning house doesn’t mind, because he can’t see or smell the fire yet. People are shouting at someone in a bedroom but that person doesn’t want to hear it, closes their windows, draws the blinds and turns up the music to ignore everyone. They don’t care because there’s no fire or smoke in their bedroom.
