Is it possible to show the image preview and then try to load the original imagem showing the loading bar at the bottom of the screen?

It’s very frustrating seeing the image right there but been unable to open it and zoom in.

    I’ve found that this happens to me only on cross-instance posts, ‘sharing’ the url to Firefox focus will either load the content or show me an error message. If it does load, it often loads like a 90’s webpage over dialup…that is to say very slowly.
    Maybe the timeout is more aggressive in boost than the web browser?

      Not for me, even in the browser. It is happening for a lot of things on Lemmy. I guess it’s geolocked. Very open platform it seems…

    Happens all the time on the web version (FF) for me.

    I’ve noticed if I scroll to the bottom of the page and let all of the image previews load FIRST, then the full size images can be viewed. It makes browsing Lemmy as a website pretty slow overall.
