Poland took the decision to close its frontier with Moscow-allied Belarus ahead of joint Russian-Belarusian military exercises, codenamed Zapad 2025, which started on Friday.
Following last week’s Russian drone incursion into Polish airspace, officials said the border closure would be in force until further notice. Three freight rail crossings, one for cars and another for trucks have been shut.
The freezing of rail routes, especially, are expected to have an impact on Chinese imports to the EU, given that 90% of rail freight between China and the bloc passes through Poland.

I’m sure Poland will get right on that as soon as Beijing calls on Russia to stop their war of conquest.
With all the fossil fuels they buy from Russia, you’d think China would be more open to rein them in. It’s bad business, you know, to allow a country to invade another if you depend on trade with its neighbors.
China is alright with the west having military resources tied up in Europe for obvious reasons. I’d imagine this conflict is pretty profitable for them as well
I guess the end of the war means the end of cheap fossils for them?
That depends, I don’t see Europe rushing to buy from Russia anytime soon.
I think they’re urging wrong side of the border.
