HAHAHAHAHA really, that’s the best they could come up with?
What’s with their insane obsession with autism?
Their hyperfixation on autism is rather autistic of them.
Mainly i think its because It sounds scary to people who don’t understand it and it is scary when you witness the abuse commonplace in households where the parent of an autistic kid don’t understand it.
Another possible reasons, there is also something to be said about the historical link between lgbtq and autism communities. Mainly rejecting the social constructs of gender “being told to act a way that feels superficial and unnatural to your identity”
Far more anecdotally. Many autistic people take a high stance on justice (their personal understanding), they often almost demand common sense reasoning, refuse things perceived as bullshit or not correct. Naturally struggle with lies and deception to the point of being trained to avoid it, finding escapism and relief in logic and a structure that eliminates suprises.
That doesn’t mean there are no autistic people that are bad people, liars, narcissists. Some actually learn to become like this often bitter from a world that rejects them. But in general the majority of autistic people i know could be considered far left radicals.
The Elon Musks are outnumbered by Greta Thunbergs basically. And with the Elons enjoying corporate protections they attack the Gretas indirectly with scary autism stories.
Interesting take, and no doubt true to an extent.
I’d like to add that blowing the autism whistle is just an easy way to rile up 2 important sections of their base: those who don’t know any better, and trolls.
It’s the same as saying Jews are responsible for all of the world’s misfortunes. Trolls know it isn’t true, but they don’t care and will push the lie as an endless joke. Then people who don’t know any better come along and can’t wrap their heads around what’s going on, so they fall for it like flat-earthers or scientologists.
Others have posted some well-reasoned replies. I agree with them.
Anecdotally, I recall my autistic friends in school and the insane crap they had to contend with from bullies. For some reason, bullies can smell the neurodivergent a mile away and zero in like a laser-guided bomb. Perhaps it’s the awkward social cues, or simply that they tend to be socially isolated. Either way, the consensus was basically “autistic = good target.”
These same people are now all grown up and vote.
Phew. This is just insanely dumb but at least they can’t spin it into an eugenics solution.
A nazi would just say you’re autistic because you mother took tylenol decades ago. That’s reason enough to put you in a mental institution. Or whoever they want. Because they’re nazis.
This doesn’t make sense. Even in the wildest dreams nobody is going to mental institution because his/her mother took tylenol during pregnancy for more reasons that I have stamina to list.
I genuinely think RFK is on too many drugs and that he’s in the middle of AI induced psychosis. I say that because he forgot to account for his antivaxxer fans who are having a meltdown now.
They hardly need this excuse to brand someone autistic.
Here’s how this goes:
Nazi: “Did your mother ever take tylenol?”
You: anything other than no, absolutely not. Not once. Ever.
Nazi: “She did? Then you’re autistic and you are mentally unfit. We’re declaring you incompetent immediately, and putting you in a for-profit private mental health facility permanently for the good of christian nazi society.”
You: Anything
Nazi: “Take away that autistic scumbag!”
This guy gets it. It’s a blanket excuse for whatever they want to do.
condition marked by social as well as communication difficulties and behaviors that are repetitive.
Everyone has these, assholes. Y’all have no idea what autism is.
Everyone goes pee, but if you do it 30 times a day, it’s time to see a doctor.
Right. That’s why their description of autism is insufficient at best.
Correct but so is the comment above you.
Non autistic people are just as incapable of communicating with me as i am with them, But i can communicate to people that are like me completely fine.
Repetition of a action or series of actions is not a symptom of any disability but a way to manage the actual struggles with living in a society that is not designed to include our way of thinking/living by creating predictable paths that work well for us. Or in the case of stimming to overcome overstimulation senses (by feeling everything much more intensely) by replacing them with comforting known stimuli.
They just took the Wikipedia definition and butchered it:
Autism, also known as autism spectrum disorder (ASD),[a] is a condition characterized by differences or difficulties in social communication and interaction, a need or strong preference for predictability and routine, sensory processing differences, focused interests, and repetitive behaviors.[4]
Not everybody has those to the same extent. This is like saying „everyone’s a bit autistic” which is just harmful. To meet diagnostic criteria it has to significantly interfere with your day to day. For the NTs who’ll never understand anyway this is about as plain as they can take it.
It’s not like saying that. What I’m saying is that the article’s ‘definition’ of autism is piss poor.
OK, but I’m more concerned about the liver function issues. Tylenol is OK if you’re to the point where you can’t take it anymore.
Seriously, those medications sometimes are worse than the problem.
If Tylenol hit the market today, it would be prescription only. My best friend’s wife crashed her liver on it, was in a coma for 2-months until she got a new one.
I got it for back pain. Then I realized that the pain was way stronger after I had the Tylenol. So I stopped. Later on I learned about the dangers. Tylenol is not something to take daily. Its a couple times when you’re dying of pain type of med. The worst part is that they put Tylenol on flu medication so you get a heavy dose every year no matter what.
