No, it’s just meaningless greeble with some chromatic aberration slapped on it.

In the wise words of Sol Robeson to Max in Aronofsky’s Pi:

You want to find the number 216 in the world, you will be able to find it everywhere. 216 steps from a mere street corner to your front door. 216 seconds you spend riding on the elevator. When your mind becomes obsessed with anything, you will filter everything else out and find that thing everywhere.

Stop looking for patterns where none exist. It’s a great way to drive yourself crazy.

That’s a super fun argument to shut down any opposition.

I’m not disagreeing with that issue. Unfortunately any place that is both online and allows children will inevitably attract pedophiles. Heck, even places that don’t specifically cater to kids can have that. I’m not saying that Roblox can’t be doing more, but I don’t know enough about what they are currently doing.

My “let people enjoy things” argument was because most “Roblox bad” discussions I see are because it’s a game who’s player base is younger people/kids. And kid gamers can be annoying, lol. The same complaints were happening when Fortnight was on the rise.

I have a 12 and 10 year old, and boy do they love gaming (Roblox, fortnight, Minecraft, and a myriad of other games). Roblox terminated both my kids accounts over what they perceived as a threat against a minor from my 12 yo. I don’t remember the exact comment , but it certainly wasn’t terminate his and his brother’s accounts bad.

That aside, 99% of the interactions they’ve had online have been super nice; as in helping each other out by gifting them in-game items and currency because the other person asked nicely (and vice versa).

I don’t doubt there are asshole kids out there. But I haven’t heard of them personally so far. I am grateful for that too.

But, back to my original point: Roblox is very bad.

I didn’t mean that those were the only arguments I saw. There are plenty of reasons to hate anything, and it’s not practical to list them all when talking about one in particular. I’m sorry I didn’t touch on your specific issue, but until this morning I didn’t know you existed.

Fortnite hasn’t had loot boxes or anything even resembling item gambling for years. Everything is not only optional/cosmetic but also clearly priced. Of all the exploitative games to use as an example, it’s one of the least problematic.

Do you still support Valve? They practically invented the modern cosmetics and loot box economy and CS has one of the most exploitative implementations still in operation.

Maybe when designer put the text down it meant something but after they scale it down, it lost all meaning contained within, so NO it doesn’t.
