Unity has temporarily closed its offices in San Francisco and Austin, Texas and canceled a town hall meeting after receiving death threats. The company made the call as a precaution against possible retribution after it announced a contentious change to its business model this week.
I never sent any kind of threat to anyone but i totally understand people who do. Trying to steal the work of thousands of people because it’s technically legal is not trivial.

I remember years ago seeing a video about the economical crash of 2008 showing brokers ( i don’t know if it’s the right term ) celebrating and drinking wine and laughing in front of a sea of people protesting their life savings being gone. It left an impression on me.
In my mind, i automatically understood it as empty threats and nothing more than heavy trolling of unity but i think you guys truly believe that they’re real threats.
Buddy, death threats are pretty serious, and you must consider yourself lucky that people are threatening to kill you over something beyond your control.
99% of the people in that office had absolutely nothing to do with the decision that upper management made. They are just working for a living. They didn’t choose anything, they chose to not starve. Fuck off with punishing the entire work force for the greed of a few individuals.

Am a game dev as in depressed guy that made 20 game demos and engines 10 years ago but never finished any because his brother would get jealous and format the family pc each time he made anything worthwhile. Still Got some images tho. Wanna see ? Am still kinda proud of the garbage i Made back then.
Have you ever had siblings ? Threatening each other is basically how you mean you’re serious about something . Although, it depends on if you’re the older or younger kid and if you’re on the younger side it meant it rarely, if ever, worked.
