Hi everybody! I type a lot since i am a programmer and a student but i also play videogames (like minecraft and various indies) and since my setup is pratically just a laptop and a mouse it sometimes is just not very comfortable so i want to buy for my first time a keyboard
I was looking for a keyboard that is not smaller than a 75% and the XDA profile is my preferred, for switches…well i don’t really know much but something not very noisy would be good
there are any mechanic keyboard under 25€? I am very low budget and i may even consider to buy from second hand markets and I can build it myself if that mean that i can save money;
thank you for using your time to answer!
I think the only real option you have for a mechanical keyboard at that price point is hunting for good deals on the second hand market.
There are mechanical keyboards available for that price but I think they are all pretty bad. You are probably better off going with a decent rubber dome rather than something mechanical if your main goal is just being more comfortable using your laptop.
Another option would be building your own board. Depending on how cheaply you can get parts, that is.
I understand money is tight and things are getting ever more expensive. But is it not an option to save up a little more and get something decent rather than the aboslute cheapest board?
Yeah i think i will buy a rubber dome or something similiar since they are cheaper and i am searching on second hand market too, i think Ebay should be a good place(?);
Anyway yeah i could save up but the fact is that i either save for a keyboard or other pieces for my setup and for the keyboard i don’t feel like to spend as much as i would do for other upgrades (like a good SSD since cheaper ones usually fail too soon) so yeah can’t do much and probably i am going to buy a rubber dome
For good second hand deals its hard to say what platforms are good, as that heavily depends on where you are. But yeah, eBay is probably a good place to start.
Good idea spending more of your budget on parts IMO. Mechanical keyboards are nice, but it’s definitely not necessary.
