89 million Americans didn’t vote in 2024, roughly 36% of all eligible voters, over 1/3rd.

Elections happen every 2 years. Approval polls are taken every 2 weeks. Things change.

If in March he announces an end to the tariffs and prices have a sudden relief, then the GOP can sail in on the realization of lower prices.
It’s easier to make things better when you deliberately make them worse first. There’s the lovely strategic thing of the non-election year.
