I’m sorry if that was your personal experience, but it is far from the modal experience and shouldn’t be used as a basis for how we evaluate medical treatment or medications themselves. Like I said, you have no idea what you’re talking about.
No, you chose the first mental health drug that came to mind, not knowing that SSRIs and benzos are two very different classes of drug. Because, again, you have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.
Your inability to differentiate between specific drugs, all of which are commonly known, sure makes it seem like you have absolutely no fucking idea what you’re talking about.
And the users of that site will tell you with a straight face that they are “free thinkers” and are immune to propaganda.
It doesn’t work that well, since that’s less than 1% of federal employees.
Tumblr is absolutely still a thing, my wife uses it all the time.
I work over at the power plant with dicknose here, give me a food!
Seriously. It’s obviously abhorrent, but thankfully as of now there’s zero chance of it passing. Save your energy for the many things that warrant shock and disgust.
By then it will be the third time.
You’re missing the point. No one thought Trump was the “anti-genocide” candidate. The people who DO care about Palestine knew that Biden was arming and facilitating genocide, and they heard Harris when she promised more of the same. Trump also supporting the genocide clearly wasn’t enough to get lots of those people to vote against him. You can call them stupid, or short-sighted, or whatever names you want, but the reality is that it’s not enough to point at the GOP and say that they’re also pro-genocide.
Whenever I see people bring that up, there seems to be an assumption that Kamala definitely would have won if more people voted. Maybe that’s true, but who’s to say? I do agree that Dems need to increase turnout if they want to remain competitive, and I hope they do that by running a better campaign rather than banking on the idea that being “not Trump” will be enough to win. I’m not optimistic about that though.
It doesn’t matter what they wanted, since every single 3rd party vote (including right wing third parties) could have gone to Kamala and she still would have lost.
It would be a lot cooler if you were
I saw this article posted a few days ago that I hope will answer it for you. It doesn’t really matter who wrote the headline, imo.
Oh it’s not stupid, it’s an intentional effort to manufacture consent.
Even that is far too mild. The Syrian “buffer zone” is there to “protect” the Golan Heights, which was also originally pitched as a “buffer zone”. Wonder what the long term plans are for this new “buffer zone”, and which zone will buffer it next?
I’m just wondering where all this enthusiasm and energy was when it came to trying to make sure the other bad guy didn’t get elected.
Probably because around 99% of the people using Lemmy already know that Trump is worse, so complaining about it feels irrelevant and like a waste of time. What does it accomplish when everyone already agrees?
When people here complain about the amount of Biden-bashing from leftists, now that actually accomplishes something. What that does is give people who are debating between voting blue, voting third party, or not voting at all (and there are a lot of those people around here) the impression that dedicated Democrat voters don’t care what Democrats do as long as Trump does something worse. This promotes the idea that “both sides are the same” and discourages people from voting blue.
It’s just another reason for them to crucify him.
It’s not too much to ask that the POTUS considers the details of actions they take before taking them. Hell, this is one of the many criticisms people correctly make of Trump. It’s also not too much to expect other politicians take their jobs more seriously than Trump does, or for other politicians to be better than Trump in general (especially when that is literally all that they promise us).
Not really, we all saw how the Dems handled and continue to handle things. It’s better than the GOP but far from acceptable. But, again, you are not responding to the point I made a month ago.
Regardless of whatever arguments you have that people should vote Democrat, many of which I would probably agree with, they are not. Whether or not it should be the case is irrelevant, as this most recent election shows that the Dems’ strategy isn’t working. Running a right-wing campaign trying to appeal to “moderate Republicans”, part of which was their approach to Gaza, failed miserably. If they don’t do things differently, they will continue to fail, even if people should understand that they are still the lesser evil.
