16·2 years agoWhat crowd funding? It’s been a released game for years backed by macro transactions from the store
Not really sure what’s so controversial about this. CIG argued in court the game is released and it hasn’t been crowd funded since they left Kickstarter. People just pay to get ships to fly or for outfits and weapons or in some cases, pre-order ships.

31·2 years agoA video game is not a reality. It’s a past time. Watching a television show, reading a book or making some art is also not an alternate reality. You’re still in the same place.

122·2 years agoI’m confused by the title. Google Glass came in 2013. Meta didn’t release a vr headset until 2019. Not to mention wearables are more than vr/ar headsets. Android wear came out in 2014.

Today I Learned@lemmy.world•TIL In the Hot Coffee lawsuit against McDonalds, punitive damages were given due to McDonalds intentionally overheating coffee to save money on refillsEnglish
6·3 years agoIt wasn’t a pot of boiling water, it was a cup of coffee. Which is expected to be at a temperature that is drinkable when you get it and if spilling it on yourself is dangerous then that’s a problem.
