Welcome to Lemmy, here are a few pointers to help you settle in
Also, feel free to redirect people to !AskUSA@discuss.online for US specific questions
Personally, I wish there were more people here though.
Most of us do. The people who always complain about growth when we’re barely at 50k monthly active users are a vocal minority
Your instance is cool!
Probably worth sharing it on !communitypromo@lemmy.ca

I get it too. Sometimes Lemmy can get quite argumentative, but that’s probably inherent to discussing things with strangers on the Internet.
I’ve recently tried to focus more on “casual” communities like this one, video games I like, manual hobbies I enjoy. It helps focusing on that rather than some comments arguing.
Feels good to disconnect for a few days too.
Take care @Stamets@lemmy.world. I’m not the biggest Star Trek fan, so I didn’t interact with you a lot, but everytime we did it was respectful.

None of them are politics or news
!communitypromo@lemmy.ca also has a pinned post for non political communities

I just used a book ha ha 😄
We moved to simpler names
Sounds promising, good luck!
Indeed, there’s https://feddit.cl/ and https://mujico.org/ but that’s pretty much it
Oh, I’m sure the /r/Canada, /r/France and all of the others are the same.
The /R/buyfromEU mods still haven’t added any link to the !buyeuropean@feddit.uk in their pinned post
As a kind of unique exception (!melbourne@aussie.zone being the other one), the mods of /r/ich_iel pointed out to feddit.de (previous version of feddit.org) in a pinned post: https://old.reddit.com/r/ich_iel/comments/14d65o7/öffentliche_dienstmeldung_änderung_der/
Compare this to all of the other country/regional subs who would remove similar posts for “self promotion”, and you get why the German population was guided here instead of having to hear it from an second level comment on a Sunday thread
You might want to crosspost this to !linguistics@mander.xyz , interesting post
