Lol as a straight guy, that tracks. For me, I think it’s that I’m comfortable with myself and who I am on the spectrum of sexuality, and don’t really care if people judge me as gay. You’re damn right if there’s something funny to be said that happens to be gay as fuck, I’m just gonna go ahead and say it.

  • “I’m not depressed, at least I don’t think I am. I don’t really feel sad.”

Definitely sounds familiar to my experience a couple years before my depression diagnosis. I’m not saying that I think you’re depressed, it definitely manifests differently from person to person. For me it feels like a really heavy blanket draped over my mind that holds me down from doing the things I want to, but I am very comfortable underneath that blanket.

Im going to check out your song when I have time later today. I hope you continue making music, we all need something to put ourselves into.

Edit: I just listened to the song, super heart felt and full of emotion. You’ve gotta make time to do more of that.

  • As I said, it’s also good life advice, they’re not mutually exclusive. For most people, those things are going to improve relationship and the likelihood of being in a romantic one. If you are in fact too ugly for someone to be physically attracted to you, you need to make yourself more emotionally and personably attractive. So far, the ugliest part I’ve seen about you is your attitude, and that’s going to have a waaay bigger effect on what people think of you. I’m a straight dude, and judging from this post I wouldn’t want to spend time with you in a platonic manner, let alone an intimate one simply because you’re coming across like a dick head. It sounds like you’re entirely focused on what you can’t do, while rejecting any notion that you can improve yourself and your chances. I don’t blame women for not wanting any part of that.

  • Why is that? You obviously have already made up your mind on the subject, seeing other answers. Were you simply seeking validation? I don’t take problem with that, but don’t outright reject the people who are providing genuine responses to your query. Given this is a largely anonymous platform, we have no context on what you actually look like, and you may very well be ugly enough that it has as big of an impact as you indicate it does. The advice being posted is valid for 99.9% of people, but you have to understand that we don’t know what you’re working with. On top of that, most of what is being said is also just good life advice to follow in general, even if it doesn’t get you a partner.

Unfortunately, you made it a political discussion the moment you complained about the ad being about firearms. There is no civil place to discuss legality of firearms on the internet, and the introduction of the topic tends to bring out the worst in people on all sides of the discussion.

A little more info, there is no registry for long guns, only restricted firearms (handguns and those firearms arbitrarily determined by the government to be restricted). I am all for stronger gun control in Canada, and this ad is disingenuous, but it absolutely is a ban (amnesty granted to the owners of newly prohibited firearms until October 2025), not the registry that people are complaining about. A ban not necessarily grounded in facts or reality, as there is no consistency in what gets banned and what does not. E.g., AR-15s are restricted, while the more compact but functionally similar Tavor is non-restricted.

As a sport shooter/hunter (NOT right leaning), I just want consistency in the laws I need to follow haha
