Yeah I should have mentioned, anything that’s “no GM” is actually preferred, I think for our group.
I’m kinda open on setting. I know that does help much but this group plays all sorts of board games so we’re comfortable in lots of different settings.
I can only think of games that I liked as much as DE, and for similar reasons. The one I come up with is actually Portal 2. In that while I enjoyed the gameplay, the writing is actually what I think about when I think of that game. Playing those two games really was like going on a fun journey, if that makes sense.
As absolutely unhinged as a lot of these Israeli settlers sound, they are verbatim what white settlers in North America said when they were stealing land.
Like, saying the US Army was too soft on the indigenous people. Or absolutely losing their minds over the government putting even the most mild “look we’re gonna genocide them and take their land, but you just have to be a little patient” type rules in place. They felt as entitled to the land as Israeli settlers do.
You just reminded me of Neo Geo. The whole idea of that console was that you were getting the direct from the arcade experience.
IIRC the console cost $700 and the game cartridges were $200 each… in early 90s dollars.
$200 for a single game, too. It wasn’t a cart that had like multiple games on it or something.
The only places that have “good” infrastructure in the US are in rings around cities where the development has been fairly recent so the roads and all haven’t had time to degrade. Outside of the ring you have rural areas and they either have nonexistent infrastructure or what they have is dilapidated. Inside that ring you have older parts of the city that get neglected and usually the more non-white it gets the less resources are spent on infrastructure so it just gets worse.
Unfortunately, the people who live in that ring of good infrastructure tend to also be who American society caters to (middle class and rich white people).
