Perfect, my cat loves his new flappy paper cat toy with a fun clacky whirly noise button under it
I can confirm that it shows up as both for me. I’m not in US or Mexico, and it shows as “Gulf of Mexico (Gulf of America)”. The info I saw was that it shows as GoA in the US, GoM in Mexico, and both everywhere else. At least 2 of those are true, I’m guessing all 3 are
Just finished Echoes of the Eye (Outer Wilds DLC) last week, now trying Hollow Knight again. I’ve tried before, I love the game, I just don’t play many side-scrolling metroidvanias and even with the map and the pins I get lost and overwhelmed.
This time I’m trying to just go with the flow a bit more, not get too hung up on mentally mapping out every twist and turn, and so far I’m making much better progress (I think). Gonna stick with it.
You dropped a v… Oh. You little shirt
Ahhh keep going, really experiment with creating different openings for attacks. Such a great fight. And then (maybe spoilers, not sure? You probably already know that fromsoft games often have different endings / paths) figure out how to have an even harder version of that fight
Lies of P - nameless puppet. I choose the other ending on my first run, so my first time facing him was in ng+. Not sure if that made it harder, but yeah, that one was rough
FYI there’s a typo in here which had me reading it like “people-freeing ethnic cleansing”, which sounds evil as hell and not at all what you meant
Also anecdotal: I met an American in France one time. We were both travelling, so there were plenty of other things to talk about, but somehow he got onto the subject of how much he loves the 2nd amendment within 5 minutes of meeting him, max. I have no idea how he steered the convo there, it was like a magic trick. Blew my mind.
No one (except for a very few nut jobs) is blaming Jews for the genocide that is happening, they’re blaming the state of Israel. The current government and individual people making the decisions. Disagreeing with apartheid Israel does not equal ‘blaming jews’.
Also, look into Christian Zionism. There are a lot of literal nazis and other antisemites who are thrilled about backing Israel right now, because they think that this is all part of a prophecy that brings about the end times or something… And this prophecy does not end well for Jews. So no, supporting Israel does not necessarily mean someone isn’t antisemetic right now either.
Nope. He does the salute twice before saying the ‘my heart goes out to you’ plausible deniability attempt. Which makes it much less likely to be just a simple gesture, and also makes it very very clear that the crown is cheering the salute, not the line which comes later.
I know you are being technically accurate about gender identity, but we’re not talking about you, and the example here is someone posting “look at that tranny”. They are absolutely thinking about genitals.
Oof, they bought you chutes and ladders (snakes and ladders where I grew up, I guess chutes makes a lot more sense) and never even played it with you…? Damn. I’m sorry
I trusted you
Holy shit
That’s amazing
Some people are overly conscientious of people around them, and ask questions like these even though they are already being completely reasonable. It’s a huge jump to assume they must be being an asshole, yelling into their mic etc. Try asking next time: “are you concerned about it because you tend to get excited and loud while chatting? Or is it more just a normal phone-call conversation volume?”
…talking, in your own room, is being an asshole?
I just watched a trailer for Intergalactic (by Naughty Dog). For some reason the one shot of the protagonist drinking with a straw blew me away. The micro expressions are so subtle but play so perfectly in the scene, it feels incredibly real in that moment.
The rest is also incredible, but of course still has something that gives it away… It’s becoming harder for me to pinpoint what that something is, though. Something to to with the eye muscles I think?

Don’t delete. There is no hive. Let the opinions and discussion happen, read them all, see if anything sways you. If not that’s fine, if it does that’s fine too. You asked, hear the answers
She hardly even took it back, just expressed regret that the word became ‘politicised’ since she said it…?? No, it was disgustingly incorrect when you said it
Commented about this recently somewhere else, so it’s what came to mind first - ‘Mother’ by Darren Aronofsky. I came away from watching it really excited about interpretations involving artists, egos, glorified relationships with their ‘muse’ that drains that partner completely until they have nothing more to give and are discarded, shattered, while the artist is adored etc.
Aronofsky himself describes it with a fixed interpretation of (paraphrasing) ‘she represents mother earth, and we are taking from her and destroying her’. Which in my opinion is just kinda boring. I can see it fitting, but it just makes the whole movie much less interesting to me
