  • Like most of the Neurodivergant individuals my age, I was never diagnosed.

For this reason, I was very lucky and fortunate that my older brother and peer group kept an eye out and kept reminding me to pay attention to my surroundings.

Nowadays, I use my learned skill of hyper awareness of my surroundings, combined with my innate over-analysis of problems to anticipate problems before they develop.

Neurodivergence is a gift, allowing you to see things that neuro-normative people don’t, as well as a curse. If you overcome the curse through discipline and training, as well as support of those around you, you will end up as better person.

If you keep saying “I’m on the spectrum so I don’t have to adhere to social norms”, you will only ever be neurodivergent.

  • Polls are not Votes. Polls are not subject to the same scrutiny as Votes. Even in regions that have a traditional bias towards one party of the other, there can still (theoretically) be significant statistical differences.

For instance, what if the Mormon women also decided to vote along gender lines; they may informally poll Republican in front of their peers, but may vote Democrat in the privacy of the voting booth.

What if a landslide number of people who have never voted before all vote against the status quo. If they had never voted before, they wouldn’t have been included in any polling.

Whether this is a realistic scenario or not is irrelevant to whether it can be called until at least half the possible votes have been counted in favour of one candidate or the other.

Most of the arseholes who are arseholes on the Internet are arseholes I’m real life too.

People who chat at the grocery store, or wish you a good day when you are waking in the street are also usually people who are friendly and helpful on the Internet too.

People who get angry because someone else has the gumption to share a road with them are also the kind of people who abuse other Internet users because they share a server in an online game, social network or forum with them. They are also the type of people who get angry queuing at the supermarket and abuse retail workers.

  • Same as. Certain family members expect everyone to be on Facebook and also drink all of Zucks Kool-Aid.

I just don’t go to those family events, unless I’m personally invited. If an event only exists of Facebook, it does not exist to me.

I have 2FA apps on my phone for work. I also have the horrendous HR app for applying for Annual Leave. If they insist that I need more work-related apps on my personal phone, I will be getting a second phone and using that exclusively for work. It will be turned off when I walk out the door at the end of the day and kept in my office drawer.

  • We have a HiSense 60” and have never connected it to any network. It works perfectly as a Dumb Monitor with multiple HDMI inputs and HDCP and HDMI-CEC work perfectly with our AppleTV (HDMI 1) and PS5 (HDMI2) We have TOSLink Optical Audio to an Amp(receiver) and it works almost perfectly, until the Amp chucks a hissy-fit because people forget to turn it off.
