  • To assume something isn’t true based solely on the fact that you’ve never experienced it demonstrates a profound lack of empathy and critical thought. So does taking the time to complain about trans people in a meme instead of having an actual conversation with another human being.

If you take the time to do the latter instead, you might develop a shred of empathy, but you’re afraid to, because that might mean you have to admit that you’re wrong.

I know this is obvious, but Cash’s beliefs are endlessly fascinating. The same man who recorded “Ragged Old Flag” also wrote “Man in Black” and covered “Out Among the Stars.” The latter is a song about a kid who commits suicide by cop because he doesn’t feel like his life matters.

  • While that’s true, what’s illegitimate is when the idiots set up bots to spam negative reviews, like what happened with Captain Marvel and Last Jedi. A person with a negative opinion is fine. A bot spamming the same negative reviews again and again in order to artificially bring down the score? Not fine.

I’m not saying that’s what happened here, but reviewing bombing generally consists of more than a group of angry people writing honest reviews.

By the logic of this post, yes they would. By the logic of my comment…no? I’m honestly not sure, but I feel like they would live on in some capacity by the marks they/their former followers have made on the world. History was shaped by lots of humans that are dead now.

Sorry to get weirdly serious on a shitpost, but I don’t know if a concept does cease to exist just because you’re currently not thinking about it.

That’s partly the theme of the novel The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, which argues–in quite a lovely way–that ideas have a life of their own. No one remembers Addie, and yet she still leaves marks on the world.

Anyway, have an upvote cause Ralph made me laugh, then overthink.
