I’m just a guy that loves #gaming and #opensource, despite not understanding how it all works 😁 Super fascinated by the fediverse and what it’s capable of.
I’m hoping that I can find the time and energy to learn more about coding, so I can contribute to FOSS projects in the future 😄

@rosatherad @polaroid This is very much how it works with Mastodon, you can basically export your data and hop to another instance whenever you like!
Honestly this is how it should work, for all of the #Fediverse. Migration should not be a second thought, but an integrated and assumed part of using the fediverse. I’ve jumped servers 3 times on Mastodon, because I kept finding a “better” home for myself and my interests. Finding the right place takes time!

I’ve got to say, Linux and FOSS in general has really come a long way just these few last years. For me it has gone from tedious and problem-ridden to mostly frictionless. But the times that I do stumble unto an issue, it still takes a while to figure out a solution 🙃 So, not perfect yet, but a looot more user friendly these days! 😃
