Romance of Three Kingdoms by Luo Guanzhong. It seems… fitting for our current time.
I watched those 2 channels some time ago too. I think they’ve become more and more CCP-critical over time though. I remember their videos almost 10 years ago being quite uncritical. They definitely couldn’t put their current content out if they still lived in China.
I think the crux of it is though that they were Youtubers, their critical views were for outsiders/foreigners, not for the average Chinese douyin/youkou user and as such were less relevant for 公安. Chinese people couldn’t watch those if they weren’t using a VPN.
In the same vein, if you were making death threats against the current administration you’ll likely get in trouble if you do it on Facebook or TruthSocial. But it would most likely fly completely under the radar if you did it in Mandarin and posted it on TikTok/Douyin. Censors can’t censor what flies over their head.
(As a German living here) I doubt it. It’s bad but it’s still not China-level bad - and even in China they don’t arrest literally everyone. If you’re a foreign national living in the US however, you should be a bit more careful.
There’s only 3-4 big EU-Eurozone-Europe ETFs, I’m sure you can figure out which one suits you in about 10 minutes research 😅 At least that’s how long it took me to decide what to swap my VOO for.
I don’t think that’s quite right. Products here usually always have their country of origin either on the product label itself or on the price label if it’s unpackaged produce. Sure, it’s extremely easy to pick the made-in-China garlic at a grocery store thinking it was grown in Germany, but usually you find a European-alternative for, in this case garlic, in the organic/Bio section.
This was a thing even into the mid 2000s in my household :)
That’s cool and all but I don’t think there’s a drug in existence which can make that webpage make sense. It’s like an HTML-CSS-fever dream
There’s easily 100 different kinds of Cola and Cola-Orange (“Spezi”) mixes produced in the EU it’s easiest to start taste-testing with everything in your local grocery store and finding out if one of them is to your liking. If you’re from Germany, there’s at least Fritz-Cola, Afri-Cola, Proviant-Cola, Paulaner Spezi (and Spezi made by many other breweries)…

Budweiser Budvar > Carlsberg > Budweiser (US)
Tbh, how likely is it that two big ships with sonar, radar, radio communications and (possibly impaired) visibility on both sides collide by freak accident? Impossible, no of course not. But likely? Very unlikely…
Insane headline, considering the article. Didn’t expect such a bad take from the Kyiv Independent.
Not surprised at all that not a single Chinese company has exited the Russian market. Quite shocked however, that over 200 German SMEs still haven’t exited the Russian market.
Just on the verge of 900k personell… will the meatgrinder ever end…
You’re absolutely right! I should’ve said malt or grain whiskey.
The forbidden mortar lol
Tbh, I can’t stand Bourbon, regardless of country of origin. Don’t know of a single good scotch from the States though.
I know I’ll get crucified for this but EDWIN jeans from Japan are the GOAT
