It’s worth noting that at the time of writing, the words “well-regulated militia” referred to all fighting age men of sound mind. It wasn’t a thing to join or train for.

Probably because that guarantees their death. They’ll either be killed in combat or receive the death sentence.

Why would I? I already told you I know you have your mind made up and won’t interpret what I say in good faith. You didn’t read my last explanation so why would I explain any further?
You think I’m a sexist, I think you’re an idiot and/or a troll. There’s really no point continuing this “conversation” unless it’s just to aimlessly vent misplaced anger in which case fuck you too buddy!

Are you trolling?

Alright, I’ll bite too despite knowing you’ve already made your mind up and will interpret this in bad faith.
Lyft obviously does not give a single fuck about safety, they are a corporation in the United States. It just doesn’t compute. This is very clearly a move for optics and perhaps marketing, which OP has so kindly done for them. If they gave a shit they would have a proper vetting process for their drivers instead of this. Calling this move half-assed is a too generous. This doesn’t protect women from serious threats from any motivated bad actor. Sex pests will say they are a trans woman, which Lyft will never verify due to negligence and optics. Traffickers will employ women to drive for them, which is already a somewhat common practice in general.
The joke is about how capitalism creates problems in society and the pretends to solve them in ways that seem productive on the surface. In actuality, these solutions are only to enrich the system while pacifying the people it exploits, all while sowing the division capitalism thrives on. The joke is hyperbole taking this notion to the extreme.
Allow me to restate that it’s a JOKE, the purpose is to be funny, and it’s not that serious. It was funny to me, clearly it was funny to some others based on the votes. As with all jokes, not everyone needs to get it.

Idea: close your mouth forever and never speak again

It’s a joke, man. Just say you don’t get it and move on. It’s not that serious.

Yawn. Anyone who has taken LSD could have told you reality is composed of fractals all the way down, many decades ago.

Punching down? The fuck? Nah, you’re the sexist one here. I view women as my equals. I can’t believe I really have to spell this out but the joke is about capitalism.

Honestly thought it would be obvious to everyone that this was a joke given how preposterous it was. Yes I do see why women would want this.
The joke is really just meant to be funny. But if we wanna dissect it we can. Though I feel like it should be sufficient to say the joke is about capitalism.

Thought it was obvious that this was a joke… I was chuckling as I typed this…
We look both ways no matter what because that’s the protocol and the protocol keeps us safe. If you believe it’s safe to deviate from the protocol, you’re opening up a chance to be wrong. It’s that simple.
My chemistry teacher told us this when we were first handling dangerous chemicals and it’s stuck with me ever since.

We should cut the nation in half down the middle, male side and female side. We’ll have gender embassies to coordinate economic matters. Every 10 years we’ll all send our most fit and fertile to meet in the gender demilitarized zone for breeding. Better yet, maybe we can establish a reproductive material trade so we never have to see each other.
Don’t forget that everyone eventually meets a day they can’t survive

I have yet to be emotionally moved by a single piece of AI generated content, and not for lack of exposure. I am moved by human art on a daily basis.

I really don’t feel that it’s devaluing art. Slop has always been slop whether AI or human generated. Real art takes an artist’s soul put into it and I don’t see AI replicating that. If anything it just highlights the importance of passion in art.
Not from corporations :3
I don’t say please and thank you to any inanimate objects whatsoever and if I were to begin doing so (which I will never do) computers would be the very last to receive that treatment from me. Personifying computers is not practice for how to treat people. Fuck clankers

But I don’t want to be nice to strangers on the internet, I want to take it out on you cause I can’t take it out on people in real life
No, it’s completely right. At the time of writing, it did literally mean all able men of fighting age. This was determined by the supreme court in 2008. That’s not to say there weren’t specific militia organizations, but it’s not what the amendment is specifically referring to.
