I think that the Weck is far less forgiving than a straight. A clean comfortable shave requires more attention to technique, imo.

It has been a long time since I timed a “normal” shave; one where I don’t rush and enjoy the shaving experience. 21 minutes. Brush soak time is not included. Timing started when I unscrewed the soap lid, included all three passes, thoroughly drying the razor, rinsing and drying the brush, and cleaning and drying the area around the sink. I typically allot about 20 minutes for this activity but I haven’t paid attention in a long while. Given that all this fits with my normal daily schedule, I probably won’t time this activity again for a long while.
The new brush is breaking in well. Still stiff, but certainly manageable. I did not notice any animalic smell today.

Nice shave today. I need to work on my efficiency. It took a full 22 minutes to do this 3-pass shave including cleanup. I think prep and post-shave activities can be made more efficient. No effect that I can feel with not stropping the blade, but it is early.

I am really enjoying I, Rich Moose. The scent and lather are perfect. As I did last August, this month I am forgoing stropping my straight. Although I only did my normal 2-pass shave yesterday, I plan to do 3-pass shaves for the rest of the month. Let’s see how the edge holds up under this extra stress.

I can do the color with lighting. I have the lights. It’s just quicker to do it with Lightroom. It looks natural because everywhere you see the white background reflected, white is replaced it with green.

I understand. I was going to try to kill a tub of Stirling by doing 62 shaves in August but could not find the motivation.

I load MdC heavily as I do with most soaps. I’ve never had issues with it that others have.

Wonderful Gran Prix shave with this restored Wade & Butcher provided by Robert (Noname Bear on YouTube). This one has a Zulu Grey edge that I enjoyed very much.
Bon Monsieur. Two words that give us Americans fits to pronounce correctly. I tried to help Heather with it at the Maggard Meetup a couple of years ago, but my French is awful.

I’m enjoying doing 3-pass shaves every day. It’s early, but so far, I can’t detect a difference in the edge from lack of stropping it. I’ll make a microscope image in a couple of days to get an update on its condition.
