I recently visited the statue of him in Sackville Gardens in Manchester. It’s good to see him being remembered.
Always looking for new music.
Pronouns: he/they

That’s been on my reading list for a while. I’ll give it a go, thank you!
Yeah because they’re so consistent in applying what’s in the scriptures, right?
It sounds like the council received a veiled threat:
Matlock Town Council said it had received communication that the rainbow flag could be “forcibly removed” from outside Cornerstone Christian Bookshop in Dale Road, so action was taken to relocate the flag to another central location to avoid confrontation or damage.
The council said the decision was “purely from a health and safety standpoint” and it stood in “full support of the LGBTQIA+ community”.
Stay classy, Christians 🖕🏻
Jesus Christ that README just kept getting worse. Hard pass on that.
But what font did you want me to read it in?
I’ve come back to this four times today already. Each time my appreciation grows for how masterfully wrong this is.
The uneven distribution of the slices of Emmental cheese. The chaotic squiggle of Sriracha. The chunks of pineapple balancing on the edge.
You are a genius.
Oh yeah, I just noticed this too!
Ooooh now this is interesting. My first reaction was “hah, yeah exactly!”. But then I thought: this image of text contains more information than just the textual content. For example:
Also, it may be due to the prevalence of smartphone use in interacting with Lemmy vs using a traditional computer: it’s often quicker and easier to take and share a screenshot of text than it is to select, copy and paste that text.
I’m not saying you’re wrong. I just read your comment at the time my morning coffee really hit, and it spawned an interesting chain of thoughts.
So… thank you. And sorry for inflicting this braindump.
Same! Skarsgard was very jarring compared to my mental image of Murderbot.
Are you a breeder, dog trainer or dog handler?
Because that’s not how it works. You can breed for particular traits, as you mentioned, but behavioural characteristics (such as aggression) are more complex than simple genetic traits. You could breed two highly aggressive dogs together and get a placid dog as a result.
You’re talking about behavioural characteristics, not skills. Dogs don’t know how to fight without training any more than people know how to drive a car without lessons.
And as far as aggressive behaviour goes, pitbulls aren’t necessarily any more or less aggressive than other breeds. There have been lots of studies on aggression in dogs that show that breed is not a good predictor of behavioural tendencies (https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9679229/).
The issue is people having bread them for fighting.
That’s not how breeding works. Fighting dogs are trained to fight, they don’t just grow up with inbuilt knowledge.
Please listen to the people with experience working with or handling dogs. Pitbulls and other breeds aren’t the problem. Irresponsible pet owners are
Jesus Christ, I swear some people just sit and wait for any cute picture of a pitbull so they can pounce and make “rip someone’s face off” comments.
This is a community for cute pictures/stories. Please don’t push your dog breed alarmism here.
I exiled most ways of expressing myself with my body. I’ve brought dancing back into my life, and I’m working to feel more comfortable dancing outside of dark, anonymous environments.
Feeing part of my body is a huge thing for me, because I’ve felt disconnected for so long.
This question elicited some Big Feelings for me. I’m going to sit with them a bit and then come back to answer.
I really appreciate your posts 😊 you come up in my feed a lot and it’s always something thoughtful or uplifting.
Thank you!
I probably should get more sleep because I initially read butterhead as butthead 😂
They’re incredible aren’t they? I saw one land in a field when I was on a hike and I had no idea how big they actually are!
It’s in the Gay Village in Manchester! I can thoroughly recommend going.
