I want to steep in that water
I’m honestly surprised it’s generally regarded as one of the good FFs, I don’t think I like 1 thing about it aside from a sphere grid you used to get new skills (I think).
I probably need to watch some “this is why ffx is VERY deep” video essays to at least get why people connect with it, after I finished it I really thought it was just because it was a very pretty ps2 game people played when they were young.
I played it right after P4G which didn’t help
In my case how much I hate on a game correlates to how long it was to beat, that’s why for me if an RPG isn’t at least a solid 8 then it’s the worst videogame ever, ie final fantasy x
A very mid to bad action game like “killer is dead” for example is short so I don’t feel too bad after finishing it.
I didn’t like the dumb af tone in the first one whenever you took any drastic measures in a life or death situation so idgaf about the second one
I hope this goes through so even more people become personally invested in destroying that denuvo anti-piracy shit once and for all
I think that just means people liked it more than reviewers
Can you link some, that sounds very interesting.
Yeah they’re pretty cool, and you can just start at Elden Ring 1
I don’t think it’s bad at all, I probably don’t notice it when it happens.
A great example of good asset reuse are the 7 SMT games atlus made for the PS2 which all reused demon assets
Really you’ve never played any games of the elden ring franchise? Not a single one?
I see them as they being like “we made the hugest world ever, made a bunch of assets, made bank, but gotta find a way to reuse this at least once”
The vita used to be know as a Persona 4 Golden machine, though now you can play on pc though.
I remember Soul Sacrifice Delta being pretty cool but it really needs an expanded sequel
Whenever I want to hurt my Post-Maoist soft left lib dad’s feelings I tell him that I respect and admire Roger Waters more than him.
He really likes pink floyd
I have my original PS4 controller for 10 years and it’s still going, everything played through steam works, sometimes for non steam games I might have to pull up DS4 windows
They think these older games would cannibalize sales from newer releases, which is uniquely stupid.
It’s only stupid when it’s only RETRO-RETRO games, like from the N64 backwards. Yeah I might spend some time on a retro game but they’re usually very short and they’re probably not gonna scratch the itch of a modern game, though for JRPGs that might not be the case.
But when we talk about from the ps2 onwards? Yeah sometimes I play one of the many many many 6th gen games instead of buying a recently released game at full price.
It’s obvious that they just don’t want to start the process of making old legally inaccessible game freely available, because then we could start with Retro games and then move forwards into games that DO bite into new game sales.
Either way emulation is always available, so I’m not losing sleep over this.
I have no vitriol for all the steam competitors. Epic gives me a ton of free games that I don’t play, gog releases are incredibly easy to pirate, all the proprietary ubi/ea/blizzard stores don’t bother me cos I don’t play those games.
By all means microsoft join the digital storefront battle and bring some more xbox exclusives to your PC store, exclusively. I’ll obtain them the same way I always do every other game.
WAIT THAT MEANS YOU’RE…hold on let me use my fingers

The only DQ I played was 5 on the DS, I liked it a lot but I think that was due to the things specific to THAT entry, I didn’t care all that much about the dragon quest base so i never dipped in again (maybe I will with 11 at some point but I’m not very tempted).
I think DQ3 looks good if one likes the HD2.5D aesthetic, which I don’t, at least so far it just makes every game I’ve seen look “cheap” to me and prepares my mind for the most boring Squeenix rpg plots ever.
I didn’t even know it was out on PC though, I checked the steam reviews and people seem to not like it? Even saw some in japanese. It’s surprising to me because yesterday I had gotten the news that the game was selling gangbusters in japan and it’s already the fastest selling game release in 2024
I saw this on the TwoBestFriendsPlay reddit earlier and they were saying this was unconfirmed, could just be a dude fabricating screenshots
