Salted roads during the winter, dusty conditions in the summer. The salted roads when it’s too cold to rinse the bike would usually work its way in and the bearings would be creaking before spring.
As compared to onions, garlic, potatoes, bread, cereals, or fruit? I’d put adding 4 oz of oatmilk pretty low on our pesticide exposure list.
Shoot, you should look up how American garlic’s been produced for the past few decades. It’s really disturbing and likely introducing pharmaceuticals back into human foods.
Is there an agricultural product that you eat that does not contain pesticides in some quantity?
Bike maintenance is a matter of what kind of equipment you’re riding, how far, what conditions, how much you weigh and how strong you are. When I was putting 40 miles a day commuting, my cheap bike needed maintenance about once every 2-4 weeks depending on the weather and taught me that I fucking hate cleaning and repacking my bottom bracket.
The proliferation of Ebike caliber equipment changed a lot at least for durability and comfort.
Taking credit for a woman’s words…
Instead, you got the party that sent 2000 lbs bombs and wants to eradicate the people of Gaza so he can build some casinos.
To what end? What is the purpose that you feel you need to correct that inaccuracy, because she did not say “A former space communications specialist with NASA and later, the U.S. Space Force” like her actual bio does, even though you, and anyone else reading, understood that context?
And with 30 under 30, it’s 1,230 people a year. It’s just a list of influential under 30 year olds across various industries. It’s going to include good and bad people. Forbes itself addresses it even: https://www.forbes.com/sites/forbesunder30team/2023/11/28/hall-of-shame-the-10-most-dubious-people-ever-to-make-our-30-under-30-list/
She’s someone who distills space science down to easy to consume media to the point she specialized and got a job doing it for the government, so she has credentials to be able to talk about space on social media. That’s all the more she was saying.
Language is intended to convey content. Are you unable to understand what she said and need an adult to explain to you what she meant? While the wording could be less ambiguous, it does not detract from what she was trying to convey. She wasn’t posting a CV, and trying to dismiss her like this feels like you’re trying to come up with any reason to invalidate what she is saying.
… But that was a Bush thing.
“You’ve got to read this,” Fran Townsend remembers the president telling her. “He said, ‘Look, this happens every 100 years. We need a national strategy.’”
Thus was born the nation’s most comprehensive pandemic plan – a playbook that included diagrams for a global early warning system, funding to develop new, rapid vaccine technology, and a robust national stockpile of critical supplies, such as face masks and ventilators, Townsend said.

Like, Regeneron and Moderna were direct US DARPA funding that came out because Bush was certain a new flu pandemic was enroute any day now.
Devil’s advocate: You can get an island for pretty cheap if you don’t care about amenities. Like, a chunk of inhospitable land on Lake Michigan that can only be accessed by Kayak during the warm months is in tech bro territory.
My work pays me a stipend if I stay on one of the big three since they have SLAs with them, so it’s hard to beat the price. $20 for 50 GB 5G is my out of pocket because I wanted to put my AppleWatch on the plan.
I’m getting my phone on a loan at 0%. If I want to switch carriers, then I’ll pay off the rest of the cost of my phone and they unlock it for me, but considering we’ve been running rather insane inflation over the last few years, I’m glad I made AT&T pick up that tab. I see no point in buying outright as I’m not changing carriers multiple times in a year.
Yep. This guy is a moron. The cheap and easy thing to do is just steal the $500-1000 battery that’s held in by a shitty key. My bike low jacks itself.
How do they enforce the GDPR?
They literally will do that. GDPR shows that they will go after big American companies (That’s the point, a huge chunk of this is protectionism to build a tech industry in the EU that they control)
I mean, the Linux lmza exploit was found by a Microsoft engineer. Just because dollars exchange hands doesn’t mean the data provided is invalid.
Companies hire Jepsen to validate their code for example, and you’d be a damn fool not to accept their analysis.
Rossman has a vendetta against Apple ever since he got caught importing counterfeit batteries (You can’t slap the Apple logo on batteries that Apple did not make, even if you call them “refurbished”)
It’s still bonkers to me that Kazaa’s network still technically lives on in Skype, though all the Supernodes are in Azure these days rather than the original P2P setup.
Speaking from my own personal mental health journey: Those bits of advice that didn’t work 5 years ago may work now. I couldn’t use mindfulness while my ADHD/C-PTSD was at its peak, but after working on a few other things, suddenly it became a useful tool even if I couldn’t use it for years and years. The advice was still good, but refusing to return to a tool because it didn’t immediately work in the past and getting frustrated and letting that frustration turn to anger doesn’t get me what I am looking for.
