Some of the locales are nice but the ice cliffs area is soooo fucking ugly and boring compared to the one from Iceborne six years ago and while the oil basin area has a fun conceit it is way too ugly for how badly it runs

Just finished the sniper guarding segment in Metal Gear Solid 2 (I am currently playing through the series for the first time)

I feel like it has been years since I’ve had to lock in so hard for a game to the point I kind of staggered away feeling physically exhausted afterwards.

I did enjoy it but at the same time what the fuck were the devs thinking not having inverse y directional controls for the swimming sections. I don’t think I have ever played another game that used that and I kept smashing Raiden’s pretty little head on every solid surface just trying to get him from point A to point B because the controls feel SO wrong.

AFAIK, the new level up system just hands you a bunch of points you can distribute to your attributes freely. The old leveling system was one of the very few things I would mod away every time I played so I’m happy with the change.

In a move that has baffled everyone, it’s the original 2000’s gamebryo engine handling game logic while all 3D visuals have been remade from scratch with UE5 as a graphics wrapper.

They also changed some base combat mechanics to be less floaty, added hit reactions and FX, and added sprinting.

It is a strange Frankenstein’s monster that can load mods made for the original Oblivion game and runs pretty shite

A monster codex in the in-game, in-universe glossary of terms in FF16 spoils the identity of the True Big Bad a full story arc before the character is actually introduced.

‘In-universe’ as in the glossary is supposed to be something filled out by the protags themselves based on knowledge they would know through story events or research.

It’s even funnier when the game has been patched multiple times and the entry hasn’t been altered or pushed back to unlock after that point of story progression.

Must have been an overlooked localization fluke or something.

tbh when this happened to my old 360 wireless i just bought a bunch of replacement parts and silicone wraps and decked my controller out in the gawdiest rainbow colors imaginable. The total cost was probably 1/3 of a new name brand controller too

unlike switch joycons, 360 controllers can easily be taken apart and put back together like its nothing too

Yeah I did that sidequest recently. Unfortunately it is yet another ‘fetch 10 bear asses’ fetch quest. These make up 55% of the side content (40% is ‘go here, talk to this person’).
