It’s a fucking mess. For some ungodly reason the dash is mapped to pushing down the control stick. There is no option to change it from a hold to a toggle. That’s not even getting into the entire rest of the game.

Skins are fine just have them be locked behind achievements, leveling up and fun in game challenges if you’re feeling daring.

That’s how Monster Hunter does it, there’s even stuff like rare color shifting rainbow dye you can unlock by beating endgame challenges

So it’s a bit but there are people in the fanbase like that unironically still

Honestly I can never truly make fun of early 3D graphics because 3D modeling programs are a fucking nightmare even in the 2020s, I can’t even imagine what they went through trying to use them in the 90s without the multiple decades of QOL development.

Same with early 3D game development. I’m always haunted by the knowledge that they didn’t have skeletal animation for the PS1 for a long time and Crash Bandicoot was animated on a per vertex level. Like that is fucked up. I’m a weak, spoiled 3D modeler and trying to do that would straight up kill me. I would not survive the attempt.

Pirated Lone Echo (which can only be picked up on the Oculus store if you don’t pirate it lol) and it’s pretty great so far. One of the closest things to a AAA VR game that isn’t Alyx or heavily modded Skyrim.

You play a robot on a space station near Saturn and shit happens and you got to jet around and fix stuff. It has made it clear to me that in addition to deep water I am also quite scared of drifting untethered into empty space 👍

lmao I love how even if I was interested in playing Destiny 2 for the story content, I literally cannot as chunks of it have been removed from the game and are inaccessible thanks to the Live Service treadmill. Including DLC people paid separately for, apparently!

I can never tell how much of the monsters in FFVII are actually diegetic or whether they mostly only exist out of a mix of mechanical necessity and genre convention.

Personally I’ve found that if you just install the unofficial patch, 5 of the unofficial patch-patches, 30 bug fixes, 300 model fixes, 8 NPC AI overhauls, 3 perk tree mods with their cross compatibility patches, 10 magic rebalancing mods, your economy mod of choice, all of Jayserpa quest extension mods, DYNDOLOD and all its requisite resources and tools, the mod that let’s you adopt more than 2 kids, one of the three rival lighting mods, an autopatching framework, and at least one mod that nerfs Draugr deathlord health, then Skyrim becomes a pretty passible RPG.

Plus there’s plenty of optional mods you can install!
