Before 1950: Colonizer. Cool, badass, likely about to commit crimes against humanity to enrich themselves

    After 1950: Expat.

People like this never see themselves as immigrants. They believe immigrants extract value while they are value generators that are a benefit to anywhere they may grace with their presence.

Immigrant = Bad. Steals jobs from locals

Expat = Good. Stimulates local economy with capital.

Add a garnish of good old race science (used to justify crimes against humanity for 200 years) and I think you can tell where I’m going with this. Are non-Europeans and their descendants even like, you know, people?

How did the expat get capital you ask? The guy in line one is their daddy’s daddy’s daddy. Or brought that stolen wealth back to their daddy’s daddy’s daddy’s country.

But is that wealth really stolen if its taken from non-people? - the sophistication of moral philosphical quandaries of the European colonial era lmao.

“Immigrant” in fascist newspeak means “non-white person”. in fact, I still remember a fascist from 10+ years ago, who opposed “all forms of immigration” to the US suggesting me deep red states and towns where I could settle down, and he was convinced “immigration” meant “movement of non-white people between countries”, and called my potential move to the US “settling down in another country”.

I heard an anecdote of an old white American couple visiting Mexico and the wife remarked “wow, there are so many immigrants.”

Yup. You’ve also got words like environment not meaning the world we live in, safety not meaning being safe (this isn’t exclusive to fascists, but they ran with it in the small government bullshit) and “nazis were actually left wing”.

Yeah. Immigration and emigration are really normal innocent terms to sort of explain populus as a commodity around a country’s borders. Social, economical, skills, etc. They’re just normal things countries enact to increase, decrease, or balance depending on their internal situation. And that’s entirely reasonable because it’s the only thing in place that kind of controls our species’ population to secure itself and all the shit we impact on ourselves and the environment.

So, it makes sense for a country to open up when it can sustain or needs more people. It’s like leaving the door open, “Come on in, please.”

In other times, it’s to prevent damage like, “Sorry, we’d normally love to have you but we can’t afford it right now unless you’re bringing your own beer.”

The US, right now, with it’s low employment rate and Trump’s dreams of being self-sustaining in many industries, guess what? The US needs to open up its borders BIG TIME for that and needs to incentivise it for that scale too.

But to many Americans, “immigrants” does not mean that. Could b the smartest motherfucker out there, but they don’t care you’re a dual PhD holder and know four languages, you have an accent and your skin isn’t white; you’re a fucking “immigrant” lol.

Society is a weird plague that always gets the better on humans.

Is this comment for real? Recognizing satire is kind of an important part of reading comprehension, you know.

If I could find a country full of people that weren’t petty pissants I’d be thrilled. Perhaps I wouldn’t move, but it’d give me hope for the future of humanity.

      Australia ain’t bad

It’s not perfect, but it’s better than a lot of places

I’ve lived in a few countries and there’s nowhere else I’d rather be than where I am right now

I’ve found Australia very accepting and progressive provided I don’t leave the inner northern suburbs of Melbourne.

Doesn’t Australia have these aggressive “don’t even try to move here” add compains? I guess it’s different once you’re in

That’s a hangover from the last conservative government who were a bunch of arseholes

They were trying to stop people smuggling

The majority of people here voted those cunts out

I want to believe you. Is your satisfaction with Australia in any way attributed to your username? If I were a tourist who meets you in a bar and I asked you what fun things there are to do in the area, would you grab your wrist as you punch upward? Do you drive a Ute with dual exhaust that has chrome Goatse hands around the pipe. Man, I have so many questions about Australia.

My username is just because I enjoy fisting

I drive a small EV with no exhaust pipe, and I live in the most gorgeous part of the country surrounded by natural beauty

If we met in a bar, I’d be able to give you a long list of fun things to do here, and very few of them involve fisting

Those people are too stupid to spot the irony.

They just see an advertisement board mirroring their own racist thought process, and think how it must now be socially acceptable to spew their hatred around.

If you’re in the US when writing that ad, you’re already in such a country…

    And I hate saying this.
