Twink gets railed by his transsexual goth girlfriend, gets himself boypreggers. Has to go to the boynecologist and get a BOYBORTION! Many such cases!

Birth rates are falling, because raising kids is darn expensive.

Make it easier for people to raise kids (take the money from billionaires, provide daycare, increase pay so one person can afford providing for the family) and people will be more eager to have kids.

I would take that further and say have one parent have enough money from one job so either parent can stay home.

Yeah I’ll go ahead and blame my eyes (need to get my fucking reading glasses) for missing a whole word there.

Either way - yeah, sexual attraction has fuck all to do with the birthrate.

£12.21 (16.21USD) per hour in the UK. At least outside of London its pretty good but online comments about it are so dominated by those in/near London that you would get the impression its impossible to live here on those wages. I didn’t have any problem with minimum wage in the south west and I was only working 30 hours a week - still saved up several thousand a year.

          Yup!

But capitalism is a dogshit, self-destructive and nonsensical system. At best, well made regulation can hold the worst of it at bay.

In reality though… Well, we can just look around to see why a bandaid isnt a fix.

I would push back even further and say that the nuclear family (as well as the Prussian school system) is unnatural and even harmful to child development. Raising a child in a village with lots of extended family and friends of all ages promotes much more varied socialization, with a mixture of peers to relate to and older role models to learn from.

Both daycares and schools suffer from the problem of socializing kids into seeing adults as authority figures to be placated and manipulated, rather than leaders to learn from and aspire towards. This also feeds into a cycle of seemingly-unending adolescence, to the point where we now have 30+year olds talking about “adulting” as something they still aim to achieve.

Nah I think you’ve gone too far off the wrong end. People talking about ‘adulting’ is a joke, it just references being uncomfortable with not having someone with more ‘authority’ to fall back on, and it’s something that is cited in various ways over the millenia in various media.

I don’t think what you’re proposing is wrong in terms of ‘would it be beneficial’ but I don’t think it wholly misses the idea of ‘is it feasible’ and not just in monetary terms. As it stands, today, if I had to raise my kids in a ‘village’ in this state, I’d sooner enroll them in Scientilogy For Kids in hopes the joint brainwashing cancels itself out.

Oh what I’m proposing has no foreseeable path to fruition. I’m talking about what we’ve lost on the road to industrialization. We’ve gained a lot as well but endless words have been written about that! Far less has been said about the downsides of industrialization and the movement towards car dependent suburbs.

It also needs to be said that all of what we’ve lost may not be equally irretrievable. Some things could potentially be brought back, especially as our culture continues to evolve. For example, I see the current crises with social media and the loneliness epidemic to be temporary issues (but also symptomatic of our loss of village life and in-person social connection).

And because a great career, fancy title, expensive cars and many Instagram pics of exotic locations will get you a lot of status and respect, while having a few kids gets you at best some sympathy.

It also doesn’t help how you used to have tightly knit communities where everybody helped with children and kids were often free roaming. Now kids can’t go out without supervision, everywhere there are heavy vehicles at high speed and law enforcement gets involved “for the good of the child”.

A big part is also the mental stability needed for people to want to have kids. It’s not just becauae of less money, it’s the increase in anxiety, depression etc. because of waves hands at everything.

Birth rates are inversely proportional to the quality of life in a country. There are higher birth rates in poorer countries.

That’s because in poorer countries kids are extra hands to work, but in industrialized countries it became really hard to have kids even for people that want them, because they live from paycheck to paycheck.

Don’t forget easier access to contraceptives, sex ed, and other forms of entertainment beyond sex. Netflix and chill is a lot more likely to turn into “No, wait, this show is actually really good” than “I’ve got a bucket of chicken. Wanna do it?” is to turn into “No, wait, this chicken is actually really good, let’s not have sex.”

Less accidental pregnancy, especially among teenagers, is a huge deal when it comes to the birth rate slowing down. As is people wanting a smaller family size and waiting to have a kid until they’re ready.

Ya know I get that this is probably a joke and honestly a kinda funny one given that it’s Matt Walsh of all people saying it, but I do wonder if there is something else going on in his head given his proclivities towards crossdressing for example. Mind you I can barely be introspective enough towards myself let alone other people but still.

Honestly I don’t even know if it’s a trans thing or a he likes crossdressing thing. Because the dude reacts so fucken weird to it all that I don’t even know what’s going on with it. Hell it could be that he is repressed in some entirely separate way and it’s manifesting in weird ways at this point, kinda like how sexually repressed folks start to do weirdly pseudosexually things.

In the current economic circumstances, that’s a feature.

No pregnancy, no economic and social burden for 20+ years and on, all because some jackass people in the eighties said “there’s no such thing as a society”, so other jackasses can soon become trillionaires.

it’s fairly popular in Ukraine actually but when you have the governments of two countries united in joint effort to screw things up as much as possible for as long as possible - that shit ain’t solving the demographic crisis.
