That text is very confusing. Many sentences contradict the previous one, and contains multiple ideas that are opposite to anarchism.

Likewise, fighting the exploitation of animals and veganism are not the same thing, and the question of whether the latter is useful for the former is also necessary to debate.

“Is not killing their babies really necessary to stop exploitation 🤔”

      🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

      carnists really are something

edit: would reeaallly love to hear the downvoters reasoning, like how do you square animal liberation and the slaughter necessary for sustained egg and milk production?

So much strawmaning! “There’s no such thing as vegan ideology so I get to define veganism as is convenient for me.” Gimme a break.

The rate at which veganism is being promoted by hipsters, NGOs, and—increasingly—businesses, leaves no room for doubt that capitalism, the perennial opponent of animal liberation, to say the least, has become the new best friend of veganism.

Does this really ring true to you? Capital doesn’t adopt veganism, it co-opts it, because veganism is a threat to entrenched capital. The idea that they are friends is beyond absurd, it’s nearly offensive.

Can’t read more. This is pure carnism; psychological self-manipulation to cope with the cognitive dissonance caused by being cruel and violent to vulnerable individuals while needing to see oneself as a good person. I imagine it feels convincing or at least comforting to someone who also does not wish to stop being cruel and violent.

Anarchists who are not vegan are compromising their ideals and falling short of them. It happens.

Sorry, no I think it’s a reasonable article. At the very least I thought it was an interesting take as a non-vegan. My point was veganism is not a prequisite for an anarchist – this was written by one of the more profilic anarchist writers active today.

Also, isnt this sentence a textbook strawman by you yourself? You’re literally making up a quote. Lol

So much strawmaning! “There’s no such thing as vegan ideology so I get to define veganism as is convenient for me.” Gimme a break.

Edit: phrasing. Also, if you only read that far, you barely even made it past the introduction.
