    Not the Internet but I was taught a lot of bullshit about the native Americans willingly giving up land to the settlers and all that instead of, y’know, the massive attempted genocidal slaughter that took place.

      I presume that might be a regional thing, because I was taught in 8th grade US history class about some of the atrocious things we did to the natives. And to a lesser extent about what my state did specifically in the history class for my specific state.

      In my US schools, they taught most of the atrocities. Some of my teachers were Black, I even had teacher who is a Muslim (so its not a Christian-Eurocentric perspective when it comes to World History, Civics and Social Studies)
