I’m a woman. I don’t wear makeup and I’ll tell you why. I have a lot of reasons.

I’m too lazy. (Meme applies). This is infact my number 1 reason. To be honest.

I don’t feel other people deserve for me to get dolled up for them.

As I’m getting older, I suspect that if people get used to seeing me with makeup, then when I don’t wear it, they will think I look like shit that day. And I want people to know this is what I look like all the time. So no better face to downward compare my regular face to.

As a feminist. Who has 3 nieces. I want them to see that it’s normal for a woman to not wear makeup. Idk if they get it.

I think I’m decent looking and I don’t need it anyway. As I’m getting older I still think that. My face is mine. It’s not a bad face. It changes with time. As it should. I don’t think aging makes someone ugly. Just different. And ive had that opinion for as long as I can remember so as a woman and aging, I’m not as anxious about “losing my looks”.
Last point. I don’t care if other people wear makeup. And a guy wearing nice makeup always catches my eye.
But I don’t think it should be something that anyone feels like they have to wear to be able to go out in public.

If makeup is not for you, that’s fine. But your assumption that people must wear it for you is rather arrogant. People wear makeup because they want to, because it makes them feel better for various reasons. Let people have their things, especially if they don’t affect you at all.
They can do whatever they want. It’s just a prejudgment. For me, it’s just an instant turn-off like smoking or treating weaker people badly.

Unlike your other examples makeup hurts absolutely nobody. It has zero affect on you or anyone else. But sure, it is absolutely within your rights to dislike people wearing makeup.
I don’t think they said people should not be silly. I think they just observed that sometimes people do silly things.
It seems to start in the teenage years for women. They are surrounded by ads for various make up things that they don’t need. Some have acne issues which sets them on the road to make up everyday. Yeah make up is nonsense. But the shitpost was about not giving a fuck, not make up

Welcome to society where you are being forced to comply with societal expectations. Which is bullshit, and thankfully we are killi g it off bit by bit, but yeah.
There’s still a tiny difference (to me at least) between dressing nicely (which is very subjective) or taking care of ones health and painting my face to look like something different.
I don’t care what people do though. Just a personal opinion.
it’s when other people are starting to give you that “Do(n’t) they see the way they look/are acting??” face, yet one continues to refuse to confront the personal toll being taken does it begin to stray into madness. no one really knows much about how to take care of ourselves or each other, so without some form of obvious staring-you-in-the-face feedback it is often impossible for most of us to notice when we begin causing damage
