I’m currently in school for game dev. There are maybe 60 of us in the building. I’m trans, I know of four other openly trans people, two who aren’t open, and there’s a couple people I suspect but don’t know. It’s a bit of a meme that if someone you used to work with dropped off the face of the planet they either burned out and became a woodworker, transitioned and is now using a new name, or both.
Edit to add almost my entire class including myself clearly has autism, ADHD, or both. The game industry is fully built by weirdos and outcasts
The math department where I went to grad school was also surprisingly queer (specifically trans). At one point 3 out of 4 of my advisor’s grad students were trans.

My work majority of the engineers are extremely neurodivergent and all the PO’s are extremely neurotypical and its like a constant war its very funny.
Not game dev but my class in information systems was 80% queer
