I love that Microsoft focused on B2B while Apple focused on getting their computers and OS into kids hands, so you have this beautiful mess of all jobs requiring weird, niche Windows knowledge while everyone who’s under the age of 50 came up with a POSIX compliant BSD fork and probably ended up switching to Linux at some point.
Eventually everything will be Linux since that old guard is dying out, and open source doesn’t have the shareholder baggage. We’re already seeing it happen in most civilized nations.
