The worst-case scenario is now a possible one: European troops fighting off an invasion largely alone
It’s by no means clear the Europeans would succeed. Romanian and other European officials at the exercise in Cincu, about 260 kilometers (162 miles) north of Bucharest by road, voiced concerns about how long it would take for NATO allies to make it to the front.
French four-star General Philippe de Montenon said he’s confident Europe could prevail, even without the US on side.
“The direction of history is a progressive disengagement of the United States from the European continent,” he said.
Estonia’s total population : 1 million people
Latvia’s total population : 1.8 million people
Lettonia’s total population : 1.8 million people
This is why I’m genuinely ENRAGED when I see French politicians like Jean-Luc Mélenchon or Marine Lepen attack NATO. You motherfuckers. Go read some actual history books. NATO isn’t the big bad wolf. The Soviet Union was. The Russans murdered, raped, tortured people for decades. They built a fucking IRON WALL to prevent people from escaping. NATO is now the only thing that protects these small democracies.
Jean-Luc Mélenchon even said:
“I don’t care about the Baltics. I don’t feel we have anything in common with them. Are they even part of Europe ?”

Fucking piece of shit
Completely agree. The EU needs to arm and make itself a toothed wolf, ready against US, Russian, and Chinese imperialism, playing them out against each other!
What I’m afraid of, is if the US decides to join Russia against Europe….

I’m pretty sure Trump and at least some of his underlings already have. The Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact 2.0. The US takes whatever it can get from Canada, Greenland and Central-/South-America and Russia gets free hand in Europe, possibly supported by China. Maybe China gets Taiwan. Watching Trunps actions, I think this is a real possibility. Nobody should trust the US.
“This is the first time in the last 70 years that the Europeans no longer perceive American security guarantees as guarantees,” she said.
Who came to that conclusion already in November 2025?
Well maybe this report from October 29 has something to do with it.
But yes I get your point, that’s how politics unfortunately work.
Well, if Ukraine can manage the feat largely alone (minus weapons aid) then I’m sure Europe in general can manage it. Poland is probably just waiting for them to try it
