Bitcoin is both code and a network of machines running it. When the code is updated not all machines may update themselves and there may even be a fork in the network reflective of the fork of the code base.

There were a few major forks of Bitcoin that were made at one point. One of them being Bitcoin cash which attempted to address parts of the structure of the currencies model so that transaction on the network could be more lightweight and faster. Another project, lightening, attempted to solve this over the existing network by introducing a second network that would handle transactions another way and write them in batches to Bitcoin network.

Maxi is a maximalist that prioritized growing the original network over any alternatives.

After that though, I probably don’t know because I didn’t watch the video lol, and honestly a lot of the politicking that Bitcoin became is why I liked Etherum more (if it’s going to be poltics why not just votes and org, etc).

The video addresses none of that. Its literally jush a couple stoned-sounding tech-bros sniggering/gloating “how right we were” for two minutes, without elaboration…

… all that, and as I’ve said before, I’m no stranger to any of this. It’s weird how OP and yourself both misspell Lightning the same way though, and call it a “project” when its more commonly refered to by its Network; Its been so for at least six years.
