    So what was the point of that little performance then?

    Either she should have stood her ground and not resigned (my view) or she should be persona non grata. Coming back after a few months is rather pathetic.

      Basically, the government didn’t think she did anything wrong but they had to show they were playing by the same rules that govern everyone else. They’re clearly devoid of anyone else that can do her role that they’re sounding out her return after a matter of weeks. They expect the public to have forgotten this so they can move back to their agenda of delivering on the manifesto they were elected on.

          Given how much of public opinion is created by the media.

          It’s “almost” understandable that politicians. Assume the public’s opinions has changed once the media forgets an issue.

      I guess it’s punishment and redemption. The idea of “doing time” and then going back to your life is strong in British culture.
