antithesis to Nazi ideology
Pippi is a communist? okay
The answer is

double genocide theory, soft holocaust denial
The Germans weren’t upset about the Holocaust, they were upset that they lost. Now their descendants cynically exploit it to support yet another genocide. If they could do it again they would, the only difference being that they would make sure to only target the correct victims this time.
Truly wretched and worthless blight on humanity. Morgenthau plan was already an extremely generous compromise. The very idea of Germany should have been blown into a billion pieces and scattered to the wind, and the language eradicated so I don’t have to hear their grating bloviating about their cynical fake “””atonement”””.
you’re making a lot of good points, and I’m here for it
red hair innit
I grew up reading Astrid Lindgren in the 80s and 90s. I watched Inger Nilsson, and the newer American adaptation in the late 80s. I read those books over and over again. Her superhuman strength, her dad the always-gone sea captain, her horse that lived on the porch.
One or two lines of questionable dialogue, but other than that good books for a growing kid to read.
her dad the always-gone sea captain
Just don’t look up what his title originally was

Is this a Lovecraft’s Cat situation?
Yea. The taboo on racial slurs was never really considered by authors in Scandinavia until later, you still had children’s authors writing about racial tolerance while using what are just straight slurs until the late 90s.
Edit:I should clarify. This is not a defense or an excuse. It is ridiculous and embarrassing.
Should have stayed pirate
What’s wrong with calling a guy the Fat White Chief especially when the word cracker hadn’t yet proliferated
His title was originally the [N-word] king of Kunkurudut or however you spell the Island’s name
You didn’t look hard enough
I asked google ai don’t @ me tell them about it
A shame Japan never picked up that aspect of Pippi during their obsession with her in the 20th century
