    I like it:

    Chapter III: Creating more and better cycling infrastructure
    […]
    13. increasing safety levels by giving sufficient space to cyclists and other vulnerable road users, in particular by physical separation of cycle paths from motorised traffic where relevant, or by ensuring safe speeds in mixed traffic;
    […]
    16. Promoting the deployment of charging points for e-bikes in urban planning and in bike parking spaces.

      Yup it would be great for wider adoption.

      I hope it’s well taken by citizens. Here in Canada a sector of the population gets up in arms when there are investments in cycling infrastructure. I know that kind of rhetoric exists in the UK but I’m not sure how much that applies in the rest of Europe.

        The irony is if more people use bikes there are fewer vehicles on the road, making traffic better. Why people are so opposed to bike infrastructure is always so confusing to me.

        I think people are more up in arms here (germany) about the necessary space to be taken away from cars than about money. No way around it though, since pretty much all urban space is occupied by cars.

        I would really like my city to drastically reduce street parking, i think it is really the way to push cars out of the city. Most of my neighbours would sooo hate it though, since it’s ‘not enough space’ for parking as is, even though the streets are completely littered with cars.

        Btw, I am replying from my second account, somehow this whole post does not seem to have federated with lemmy.world. (it did federate now)
